History of CCP Camp Recovery, Canova VA
-This was the first Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Prince William Country.  
-Today, the site is not occupied by the Coles District Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station.  
-It encompassed around 400 acres of land.  
-It was set up to help combat fire in the forested area.  
-By the end of 1934, 206 men from New York were stationed here under the camp superintendent, four US army officials, and eight forestry foremen.  
-Camp recovery accomplished all of its goals for fire control in the area.
