Conclusion of Childhood

In conclusion, the Great Depression seems to have made childhood much more bleak for the children growing up in that age, but perhaps in ways not focused on before.  Not only in the obvious ways, such as impoverished living and lack of sanitation, but also in cultural ways such as more fatalistic songs and depressing photography.  This can create a very negative psychological viewpoint of the world when you grow up within this kind of culture.  It also shows that the name "The Great Depression" doesn't just refer to the economic depression, but a cultural one, which can explain possibly future fatalistic viewpoints from those who grew up in this age.  Thus, we can conclude that childhood was very negatively impacted by the Great Depression, in not just physical or tangible ways, but also cultural and psychological ways.
