Final project: You will be asked to create a final exhibit that showcases your ability to ask and answer historical questions using digital tools. This project will consist of three parts.
A project proposal is due in class on Monday, December 2. Although you are asked create a digital exhibit, the proposal will be done on paper and will be discussed with other classmates. This will help us practice a kind of digital project planning called paper prototyping. More details will be given in class.
Your final exhibit will serve as a portfolio of what you learned over the semester. You can choose to focus on one central theme or multiple themes. You can reuse any of the skill assignments you created this semester, but will be asked to create use least two new items for the purposes of the exhibit. The exhibit will consist of at least one intro page and three topical pages, each including an item that showcases a digital method we learned and text that connects the skill to our secondary reading. You will need to include citations, either on each page on in a final bibliography page. More details will be given in class.
You will write a slightly longer blog post to accompany your exhibit (500-750 words) that describes your experience in the course. What skills did you learn? What did you learn about the 1930s? How do these connect? How did these themes influence your decisions to build your final exhibit? Exhibit and blog post are both due by noon on Friday, December 13.
