Struggles Far and Wide

Through exploring many different kinds of creative works during the Great Depression era, it becomes obvious that these depictions of struggle were a uniting force among the American people. The community created through shared experiences helped to ease the struggle of hard times, and to create hope for a better future, allowing for action. 

Many of these creative works still faced criticism though, for their expression of negative views. Some were interpreted as protest, like the Federal Theater Project's "One Third of a Nation," and faced consequences from groups that sought to maintain order. Regardless, their legacy remains.
