The Federal One projects led to the production of numerous pieces of art. This includes The Calvacade of the American Negro, a production of the Illinois Writers' Project that chronicled the history of African Americans. The poster for the guide was created by Sara Cleo as a product of the Federal Art Project. The image itself has a great deal of resonance, as noted in the above annotations. However, through the use of image glitching, we can create a new focus and understanding of the image. The glitched image, which can be seen below, eliminates the lower half of the image, and removes any trace of the subject's face. All that remains is a triumphant hand showing his removed chains, even as the rest of his form is drowned out by the glitch.
