Final Statement

It was made obvious through the mapping project that often times the lived experiene of Black and Brown Americans where overlooked in favor of addressing the broader White population. This willingness to ignore difference and see nuance in the population is just one way in which the identities of non-white Americans have been marginalized. The language that people are comfortable using and the negative stereotypes they spread about the 'other' continues to create more isolating experiences for people who are considered to be outside of the mainstream. 

Regardless of the governments desire to reconstruct the American identity as more white, prosperous, and united than it ever was, they could not succeeded. When people where able to assert their existance and experience through art, they irravcably changed the country. The folk are the foundation of the country and allthough they are often overlooked, the Federal One project ensured, particularly through the collection of their music, that they could not be ignored.
