Economic and Agricultural Crisis
- The Great Depression
In 1929 the stock market crashed and Wall Street went into turmoil. Indusitrial living folk were in full panic as they lost their jobs, savings, and were forced to move elsewhere. Inflation, unemployment, debt, and lost hope for future progress was destroying the American citizens of the east coast. In the years of economic chaos, the environmental atrocities overcame the farmers. Midwestern states such as Kansas and Oklahoma faced the worst of the Dust Bowl. Drought and raised temperatures destroyed acres of land and forced farmers to move westward.
